My Learning And Falling Rise

It was August 12 when I walked into this classroom, I was scared just like in every other class. Dr.Preston greeted us so friendly & very polite too. I immediately thought 'wow cant wait to mess around',  not like I don't do it regardless. I started rapidly falling behind in the class due to the amount of blog post. I am a learner who tries to be as organized as possible& always trying their best. I would've figured I would have at least a B+ during the semester.

When i first saw Dr.Preston I immediately knew that he was going to be one of the best teachers yet. He wasted no time and asked us how we wanted the classroom to be run. He told us about our options and when he was done he walked out the classroom. I was confused as why he walked out , the classroom didn't really discuss it as a class but we did choose the "easy" one. We thought open source would be easier than books due to it involving technology. We were all so happy because we were going to be able to us our phones in class.

We write journals on the daily and they are really helping go into detail with my writing. Some of the journals are really fun to write about and I think that motivates some of us due to immediately having a memory pop in our brains. We would get asked to memorize poems, I had a hard time remembering so I didn't get my credits for those poems. He would ask us to record and upload it on to our blogs. I also remember him asking us to write a resume, I never wrote one before his class but i'm glad I did. I think it'll really help me when I am applying for a job or even a scholarship.

I remember getting asked to make a post everyday. I knew I would fall behind quickly due to me leaving it off for a while. Getting further into the semester I knew i ha to make up all that work because it was really hurting my grade. I wasn't happy with my grade but I knew that it was on me for not doing any of the work that was asked for. A way I got it under control was writing all the missing blog post onto a piece of paper and checking it off when it was complete. I learned to never leaving anything aside and to do it when its due because you can fall behind quickly.

I started to come up with a plan so that I can sit and do my homework. I got home one day and I immediately took out all my homework and laid it out in front me. I also tried being away from any distraction that there can be. I would put my phone on do not disturb and play some music so that I can really get into my work Dr. Preston soon told us we would have an interview soon, I knew I had to work on the things that he was asking for. I knew that I myself would leave it to the last day. I asked my sister for hep so that my resume can come out good.

I know I've came a long way from not turning in anything to turning in whatever she had done. I really have tried my hardest in staying focused on the work I was doing and making sure anything I turned in would be my best work. I have also put a lot of thought into my journal and not just writing whatever just of ill up half a page.I know I still struggle to turn things such as this work, It gets hard due to have a brother take care of and having chores. I know this is better than nothing cause he said so himself. I am ready for the spring semester and making sure I earn the grade I know I deserve.

During thanksgiving break my mind didn't really focus on school. I did think of my English class due to my teacher posting some tips on our final. I guess you can say I was thinking of school, since i was thinking about my portfolio.

   My first impression of the on self-reliance is that everything so far in the story is relatable for someone of us.

This Guy Goes For A Walk

The story 'The pedestrian' has a confusing tone. This is because he doesn't have much emotion in his life.  The character himself doesn't seem like he has a lot of fun in his life, he seems to not enjoy the similar things as other people in his community do. The plot of the story is trying to tell us not to get so attached to the new technology due to it being very attention grabbing.

Story Of My Life

A time in my life I  could turn into a movie is when my siblings & I sneaked out. We were just watching YouTube videos when suddenly we got hungry. My sister was learning how to drive but we didn't really trust her going by herself.  My brother & I went with her to buy ourselves some tacos. My mom had gone out, but at that time we were renting one of our bedrooms. We knew this guy would tell my mom about us sneaking out, but we still did it either way not even caring. When we were parking the car we seen that his room light was on and knew that he would hear the door open. Our door has a pin, so every time we press a button it makes a loud noise. So we made my brother jump through the window and act as if he was taking out the trash, but little did we know he was in the kitchen. He then heard the window open and us laughing so he came and asked  " what are you guys doing". We told him we went to get food and he said he wouldn't tell my mom. The next day my mom got us in trouble & grounded us for a month. Now my siblings & I know not to sneak out even if its to get some tacos.

Socratic Method

While reading through 'The Socratic method' I have come to an understanding that its a way for people to think of their thinking skills. Other people's thinking can really get to you, that is why its good to know what people think of you. Also meanwhile reading it, it showed how to turn something boring into something good.

Hack to School

My English class is nothing like the other ones. In my class we don't use textbook, our teacher lets us do blogs like these. We can be open about anything and everything. This class is very cool and we can always say whats on our mind. The easiest part of this class is that we get to work mostly in class and ask for help from the teacher. The hardest part of this class is trying to keep up with all the assignments. We get like a new assignment every day but my teacher also gives us time in class to work on it. Something I've learned so far is that a lot of people don't know how to communicate with their words. In a way lots of people don't use their voices to speak up on things. My big question is "why doesn't anyone care about whats going on in our environment?". I say this is my big question because everyone is so caught up in their social media and they don't see that our world is falling apart little by little.
