Final Reflection For American Literature 2019-2020

This year was like no other... I say that because I wasn't able to finish my junior year in school. I was enrolled into an English class that doesn't use textbooks to teach. We used this blog to do our school work, it was like any other class essays,reading, and journals. The only thing different was doing it all on a blog. It was hard to keep up for me because we had a post every day. We also had to memorize poems and record ourselves to post on our blogs. Looking back on everything we did when we were together , the most meaningful thing we did was get interviewed. I think that was the most important thing because it will be very helpful to us when we are doing scholarship or job interviews. I think I am  proud of always doing my journal because I was able to write my thoughts and feelings into them. I wished that I would've been on top of all the work that was assigned so that I wouldn't have to stress when it came to finals. This course has taught me that I need to stay on top of all my work and procrastinate as much. I rather much choose credit/no credit for my course grade because I know that my letter grade will be a D and that wouldn't look good for the colleges.

Killing The Curious Cat

In Colonel Korn's 'genius policy' it stats that only people who never asked questions are allowed to speak. This reminds of school because I am the type of person to not ask for help. That meaning if I'm struggling with a math problem or an essay prompt, I will try to figure it out on my own. I tend to not ask for help because i get nervous whenever I talk to any teacher or school administrator.

My Top Three

I was asked to make a list of any books,poems, or plays I've read about. I have read a lot of interesting books but there are three that our my favorite by far. One book would be 'The Giver' , I have read & watched the movie and just find it a very amazing book to read! Another book I've read was "The distance between us" I read this book in my English class sophomore year. I found it so heart touching. Now this third book was always my favorite growing up and it would be "Junie B. Jones" I always felt like i was her growing up. I liked how she always expressed her thoughts without holding back.

What I Learned This Year

Hello I am a student at SMHS High , who tragically like other high schools have been close for the rest of the year. So far in this course, I have learned that i need to put time into my work. That be taking a whole day to complete assignments, getting in touch with teachers for help, etc. This year has been a crazy year for us all. Millions of people are dying due to COVID-19 and a lot of families are getting left with no jobs. Adults have to pay bills and if they have no jobs they aren't able to do so, nor are they able to provide for their family. This pandemic is making realize that we have to be thankful for what we have or are provided. I am very thankful that I have a mother who yet is still working through this times. Field workers are still working and providing us with vegetables and fruits to eat. SP please start being more thankful for what your family is able to give you!

Today we discussed in class about the central message about the Great Gatsby. The plot i say describes the book good is "A Guy Who Craved Love from Someone Who Didn't Love Him As Much. It Ultimately Led To His Death". I think this is good idea to base the great gatsby on because it really doe sum up the entire book.

1) Gatsby tells nick that daisy wnt to the window at 4 in the morning. Gatsby says that daisy never really loved tom. 

2) Nick tells Gatsby  by to leave now that he had the chance. Gatsby disagrees because he wanted to see what daisy was going to do.
3) They left each other when their love and communication was more profoundly with one another.
4) The author included the 'draining pool' part and the type of season because in autumn the leaves fall which means the leafs are dying. There must be a death later on. 
5) A murder was done. Gatsby had gotten shot by Wilson & then Wilson went and killed himself after.

Mechanics wife flirted with tom and started making plans with tom as if her husband wasn't there. " I want to see you,' said tom intently. "Get on the next train"
Mrs.Wilson went from being a poor mechanics wife to being the girlfriend of a young rich man. Now she thinks she's the boss and better than everyone.
